Centum City is an ultra-modern master-planned district developed on the former site of Suyeong Airfield. In 2009, Shinsegae Centum City was officially certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest department store complex (covering 293,905 square meters), housing international luxury fashion flagships, an ice rink, a multiplex cinema, and the legendary Spa Land.
Spa Land spans two expansive floors designed like a five-star international thermal resort. It draws two distinct 100% natural hot spring waters from 1,000 meters underground (calcium bicarbonate and sodium chloride springs) supplying 18 baths, along with 13 world-themed saunas including Roman steam baths, Turkish hammams, Finnish dry saunas, and charcoal wave rooms.
Spring and autumn make Centum City an ideal urban retreat on rainy days. In summer, its ice-skating rink and air-conditioned relaxation lounges offer cool respite, while winter invites travelers to submerge in outdoor open-air hot spring foot baths beneath crisp evening skies.
Spa Land is open daily from 09:00 to 22:00 (last entry at 21:00). Standard admission grants 4 hours of facility use. Staying past 4 hours incurs an additional fee of 3,000 KRW per hour (waived if you spend over 10,000 KRW on in-spa dining or massage services). Children under age 8 are restricted to preserve a peaceful atmosphere.
Standard adult admission (weekdays and weekends) is 23,000 KRW, and student admission (middle and high school) is 20,000 KRW. Clean cotton spa loungewear, towels, personal RFID locker wristbands, and luxury hair and skincare amenities are included in the ticket.
Take Busan Subway Line 2 to Centum City Station. Exit 12 connects directly via a grand marble subterranean concourse directly into the B1 level of Shinsegae Department Store. Take the interior elevators up to the 1st floor to reach the grand wooden entrance gate of Spa Land.
The entire complex is fully barrier-free. Shinsegae Department Store features accessible restrooms, tactile paving, and spacious passenger elevators. Inside Spa Land, an elevator connects the 1st floor bathing halls and the 2nd floor relaxation lounges, though access to certain thermal pools requires assistance.
Check in at Spa Land reception → receive RFID key and spa loungewear → soak in the natural outdoor mineral foot bath → experience the Roman sauna, Finnish sauna, and Himalayan salt room → relax in leather reclining chairs at the audio-video Relaxation Lounge → enjoy Korean sikhye and baked eggs at the spa snack bar.
Inside Spa Land, the traditional Korean restaurant serves bubbling Sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), nourishing beef rib soup (galbitang), and crispy seafood pajeon. The snack bar offers traditional roasted brown eggs and sweet iced rice sikhye. Downstairs, Shinsegae's basement food hall is one of Asia's finest gourmet emporiums.
The spa restaurant accommodates vegetarian diners with tofu mushroom bibimbap and vegetable ramen. The department store B1 gourmet hall offers vegan bakeries, fresh fruit juice counters, organic salad bars, and certified Halal dining options.
Photograph the serene bamboo-fringed outdoor foot bath with sunlight filtering through wooden pergolas, the architectural curve of the Roman sauna rotunda, or the futuristic exterior of Shinsegae Centum City from the Suyeong riverside park.
Footwear must be removed upon entry. Thorough showering is mandatory before entering hot spring pools. Bathing suits and cameras are strictly forbidden inside the gender-separated nude hot spring bath halls, while relaxed attire (provided loungewear) and smartphones are welcomed in the co-ed sauna and relaxation lounges.
Spa Land maintains registered nurses on call, continuous water quality filtration monitoring, and automated defibrillators. Centum General Hospital is 5 minutes away. For multilingual support, dial 1330.
Immediately adjacent within the district are the Busan Cinema Center (home of the Busan International Film Festival), the Busan Museum of Art, and BEXCO Exhibition & Convention Center.
Q: Are towels and soap provided? A: Yes, Spa Land provides unlimited soft towels, premium body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face lotions, hair dryers, and cotton loungewear completely free of charge.
