A spectacular spring renewal ceremony rooted in Jeju’s pastoral tradition of Bangae (burning old pasture grasses to eradicate vermin and welcome fertile spring sprouts). The highlight features the entire slope of Saebyeol Oreum volcanic hill (300,000 sq m) engulfed in dramatic roaring fire, accompanied by traditional folk games, torchlight parades, and laser shows. Admission is free. Free shuttles run from Jeju Stadium and Halla University.
